I Hate Paying For Shipping!

It is probably good that most places charge for shipping. If they did not, it would be way to convenient for me to shop in my own home and I know I would have a much harder time resisting buying things for good deals. That being said I have found a few ways to lighten the burden of having to pay for shipping.

Buy.com For a lot of my electronic needs I have found a great store that frequently offers free shipping on different items. You do have to be patient sometimes. They have new deals each week, and many of them offer free shipping. There products also seem to be cheaper than other places I have checked. If you want a specific item, check it out for a couple of weeks and it will probably go on sale and have free shipping. For instance, I wanted a microSD card for my cell phone. In stores these were at least $20-$30 for the small ones. I bought my 2 GB for$6.99 with free shipping.

Standard Flat Rate Shipping Many online stores offer standard flat rate shipping, meaning so much for shipping no matter how much or little you buy. For instance, The Children's Place offers shipping for $5. I order from The Children's Place when they have their additional 50% off clearance sales. (This should be a whole post on its own. I have found so many great deals here.) I have talked to friends and family, and now they also love this sale. When this sale comes along I usually order with another friend or family member, or with several others. This makes shipping not as big of deal to me.

Ship to Store Many stores now offer ship to the local store for free. One store that I have done this with is Walmart. I like this because I can shop when it is convenient for me. When it gets to the store they notify me and I can pick it up the next time I am out. Walmart online prices seem to be less than their prices in the store. They do not offer this on every item, but on many.

Sign up for E-mails I have one free e-mail account set up that I will pretty much give to anyone. I have another one that I use for personal e-mails. Any store that I shop at, I sign up for their e-mail list. By signing up for their e-mails they may send you codes for % off, free or discount shipping, or special sales. Many times when you sign up, they immediately send you an e-mail with a special offer, so if you are buying something online with someone you have not bought from before, sign up for their e-mails first, and you may get a better deal than you expected.
